Behind the Scenes Photographer Meet-Up | Iowa and Minnesota Boudoir Photographers

This past weekend I participated in a meet up with 3 other photographers. We all did each other's photos and I seriously learned SO much! It was so amazing collaborating with two other like-minded togs and working together! I look forward to future meet ups for sure!

Once we got out on location I knew I made a terrible mistake. Oh my gosh guys, it was so cold. I mean, Jenna was butt naked and I'm pretty sure I was colder than her. I wish I were kidding, I'm SUCH a baby when it comes to the cold, but it was SO worth it! We got some awesome photos and some of my favorites were the ones taken outside. I'm still working on my blog with Jenna's photos so stay tuned!

At the time I wasn't a fan of being outside but after working on Jenna's photos I'm SUCH a fan!

Once we got back to my apartment, we warmed up a bit before starting shooting in my in-home studio. My husband, Mack, was kind enough to order some pizza so we could get down to shooting.

Fun fact: as we were taking this an older couple walked past, stopped and stared. I promptly informed them there was nothing to see here!

This is where it was a totally new experience for me: I got to experience what my clients experience! Leading up to it I was a bit nervous being IN the frame instead of behind. During, it actually flowed pretty easy. I knew how to position myself because I'm used to posing others, so I didn't really need direction too much.

This was 3 days ago now, and I am STILL sore from arching my back! I'm now realizing I need to put together little self-care packages for my clients because oh my gosh, what a work out! Getting my images back made me feel SO confident too! I was constantly reminding myself that THIS was how my clients feel.

It was so surreal, and I loved being able to surprise my husband with these photos!

The images in this post are a combination of images I took, images Jenna took and I edited and Charles took. Please contact today to book your session! Thanks for reading and keep an eye out for my blog with Jenna's photos!
